Privacy

We do not use cookies and we have no accounts. Nothing you type into a tool is sent anywhere — every calculation runs inside your own browser. The one thing we do receive is a problem report, if you choose to send one.

What we collect

A count of which pages get visited, and — only if you deliberately send one — a problem report. We never ask for your name or email. There is no sign-up, no login, and no newsletter. We set no cookies and store nothing in your browser: no local storage, no session storage, nothing that persists after you close the tab.

Problem reports

If you use Report a problem, what you type in the box is sent to us and stored so we can act on it. That is the only information this site ever receives about you, and it only happens when you press Send.

Stored with it: which page you were reporting and the category you chose. That is the whole record.

We do not ask for your name or your email address. The form has no field for either, because there is no reply coming and we would rather not hold contact details we have no use for. If you type an address into the description yourself we will have it, but that is your decision and we will delete it on request.

Not stored: your IP address, your browser’s user agent, where you came from, or any identifier of any kind. Reports carry nothing that links one to another or to you, and because we set no cookies there is nothing to correlate them by. Your IP is used briefly to stop the form being flooded, and is never written down.

Reports go to a service we run ourselves on Cloudflare, not to a third-party form provider.

What happens to what you type

The measurements, weights and prices you enter into a calculator, and the tracking status you paste into the decoder, are used by code running on your own device and are never transmitted to us. Close the tab and they are gone. This is not a policy promise about how we handle your data; it is a description of the fact that we never receive it.

Sending a problem report does not change that. A report carries what you type into the report box and nothing else — whatever is in a calculator or the decoder at the time is not attached to it. If you want us to see a tracking status, you have to paste it into the report yourself, and we ask you not to send tracking numbers because we do not need them.

The tracking decoder additionally strips anything that looks like a tracking number, phone number or email address out of the text you paste before it is shown back to you. That happens locally too.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count which pages get visited. It is unusual among analytics tools in what it does not do: it sets no cookies, it does not fingerprint your device, and it cannot follow you to any other website. There is no profile of you anywhere, which is why this site has no cookie banner and there is nothing to opt out of.

What it records is the kind of thing a web server sees anyway — that a page was loaded, roughly where in the world from, and how quickly it rendered. What it does not record is anything you type. Measurements, prices and pasted tracking statuses never leave your browser, and that is a property of how the tools are built rather than a promise about how the data is handled.

Separately, the site’s own code contains a measurement layer that remains switched off, and which is written so that it refuses — by throwing an error rather than silently dropping data — to record package dimensions, weights, prices or any pasted text.

Third parties

There are none. No advertising, no trackers, no embedded widgets, no social buttons, and no web fonts loaded from anyone else’s server. The site is configured to refuse connections to other domains outright, so a third-party script could not run here even if one were added by mistake.

Two exceptions, and they are the only ones. Our own report service, which the site may contact when you send a report. And Cloudflare Web Analytics, described above, which counts page visits without cookies or tracking. Nothing else can load here.

Our host

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, their servers necessarily see the ordinary technical details of a request — your IP address, your browser’s user agent, and which page you asked for — in order to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse. That is handled under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not add anything to it and we do not build profiles from it.

Links to carriers

Pages here link to carriers’ own websites, and quote from them so you can see the wording we are relying on. Once you follow a link you are on that carrier’s site under their terms and their privacy policy, not ours.

Children

This is a shipping utility with no accounts and no data collection. It is not directed at children, and since we collect nothing from anyone, we collect nothing from children either.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. The commitments here describe how the site is actually built, so a meaningful change to them means a change to the code as well.

Contact

My Shipping Tools is operated by EDW Ventures. To reach us, or to tell us something on the site is wrong, use Report a problem. Leaving an email address there is optional; without one we simply cannot reply.
