Terms of use
This is a free reference tool. It is careful, it shows its sources, and it is not a substitute for what your carrier tells you about your shipment.
Who we are
My Shipping Tools is operated by EDW Ventures. It is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, or any other carrier named on this site. Carrier names and marks belong to their owners and are used only to say which carrier a rule or a status belongs to.
How accurate the carrier information is
This is the part worth reading. The site does not present all of its information with the same confidence, and it tells you which is which on the page itself:
- Checked against the carrier’s own page. The explanation was compared against something the carrier published, and the page shows you their sentence, word for word, with a link. You can judge the gap yourself rather than taking ours on trust.
- Draft, not verified. Written from carrier documentation but not confirmed against a published page. Pages and results say so plainly.
- Not recognised. Where we have not catalogued a status, we say that instead of guessing.
Even a quoted carrier page can be out of date, can differ by service or country, and can be superseded by what the carrier says about your specific shipment. Where the two disagree, the carrier is right and we are wrong.
Calculators
The calculators implement published carrier formulas and show their working so you can check the arithmetic. They estimate; they do not quote. Actual charges depend on your account, your service, surcharges, and how the carrier measures the package at intake. Where we do not hold a verified rule for a carrier, the tool says it cannot determine the answer rather than inventing one.
Decisions you make
Use your own judgement, especially on anything time-critical, expensive, or hard to reverse. Confirm with the carrier before relying on a deadline, a hold period, or a claim window. We are not liable for costs, losses or missed deadlines arising from relying on this site, to the fullest extent the law allows. If the law where you live does not allow that exclusion, then the limit is the amount you paid to use this site, which is nothing.
Acceptable use
Use the site normally. Do not attempt to break it, overload it, or scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people. The tools are free to use for your own shipping decisions, including commercial ones.
Availability
The site is provided as-is and may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued at any time. Content is corrected as we learn more, which means an explanation you read today may be worded differently tomorrow.
Something wrong?
Corrections are welcome and genuinely useful, particularly if you have seen a carrier behave differently from what a page here describes. A report route is being added; until it exists, this page does not pretend to offer one.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
